Welcome

Most of these poems were inspired and written for some of the most wonderful people in my life. The rest come from a place neither here nor there.

Death of a Sad Man

"Let me bleed!" said the man to the goat.
Cutting his voice from a single sad note.
There he sat on his small wood float,
Singing a tune that his father once wrote.

"Lift your fears from off your frame,
Burn your worries and your pain,
Leave your sorrow same and same,
And let the wholesome play their game..."

The goat just stared in the little mans eyes.
Possibly Death with another design,
The goat just stared with a grip so fine,
Possibly God with some more of his signs.

"Now you go away I say leave me be!
Is it too much just to let me bleed?"
Yet the goat just stared as it seemed he could see,
That the sad little man had longed to be free.

The man closed his eyes and began to regret,
All the little things that he could merely fret.
Little did he notion or try to clear his debt,
cause all he did was notion, and say his mind was set.

The goat lied down and began to close his eyes,
It too was time for this little one to die,
For the man and the goat neither had a lot of time,
And in death like the other, each had to say goodbye.

"Goodbye little goat," said the sad little man.
"I'll save my final breath 'till i no longer can."
"I'll see you in the end when the noble take their stand."
"I'll take you to the gate and I'll take you by the hand."

Withered (So Cold)

I walk these blatant pathways,
These doors are locked to me,

And though I know I’ve gone astray,
I grace these iron streets,

I am frail,
My hands the color of a dead man’s,

Though I press on,
Damn my determination,
Damn my will to search,

I hesitate before proceeding,
Another golden dawn,

The glimmer not receding,
Yet still I must press on,

I am weak,
My soul the apotheosis of despair,

Though I keep on,
Damn my insistence,
Damn my will to live…

Hold on my Dearest

Fragrance no more,
Yet scents they do last.

Petals peeled gentley,
From ataxic gardens,
Of dying roses.

Take no love from my wishes,
Darling.

However missed you are,
I shall see you again.

When these petals will shower us,
I'll gratify their intent.

Leaving my past,
To carry on,
With you...

Death, My Darling -- Inspired by William Butler Yeats

Held tight,
Grip not uplifting.
A gaze as blank and pitiless as the sun.

Her hands glide...
Silk, soft, and caring.
Sweetly caressing her own arm.

Her child had been unborn before her,
Taken alone across a sea of unknown.

Her eyes empty.
Still -- like an angel.
The garnished door of majesty shut tight.

Locked forever.

Thine Enemy -- Inspired by Robert Harrick

Come readied, armed, and meant for death,
Tomorrow we'll be dyin'.

Come raise the sword which lent you breath,
Spin and set it flyin',

Come fierce and fast, mind set to kill,
Indictive of their lyin',

Come silent, red, and eyes shut still,
Tomorrow we'll be dyin',

Ode to the Wells

They, deep.
They, lost.
Those sorrows,
They cost.

They, deep.
They, found.
Those people,
They drowned.

They, deep.
They, cold.
Those secrets,
They hold.

They, deep.
They, lost.
Those sorrows,
They cost.

Sift Through the Sands

It flows,
Breathing harshly,
Forcing this cold despair,
Upon those who do not revolt,
Fight this,

Sleep,
Foggy, endless,
Dreaming, seeing, yet disbelieving,
Holding no candle to sorrow,
Forever.

Reap

Fear me not my precious child,
All will be well in the mist and the wild,
It's not your life I've come to take.

I stand before you tall and vile,
But no harm do I pose,
So fear me not my precious child.

I see you tremble, cry, and shake,
But I will be gone before long,
It's not your life I've come to take.

You writhe and squirm beneath my smile,
With tears bearing innocence - please,
Fear me not my precious child.

You, still pure, may make mistakes,
But you still have long to go,
It's not your life I've come to take,

Bells will toll and hills will rise,
Speechless you are, distraught your soul cries,
Fear me not my precious child,
It's not your life I've come to take.

War

This is war,
War it is,
It's filled with pain,
It's filled with sin,

It feels no fault,
It holds no doubt,
No one single man,
Will ever get out,

Ride the hope,
Fight the despair,
Lift up your hand,
And feel whats not there...

I remember the day I died

I remember the day I died,
The day god looked into my eyes,

He took my hand and said goodbye,
He knew that moment was not my time,

I woke and stared up into a light,
Shining down from a mystical night,

"Go back to sleep," I heard him say,
I had feared I lost my way,

And I my mind I thought I had died,
But in reality I was well alive,

I did not know and did not care,
Because for me I was already there,

In a place I hoped I could be free,
In a place I knew that I could be me,

But soon I woke a second time,
My mind had told me a blatant lie,

Months had passed and I could tell,
Life for me was not a hell,

The world is a place for me to be free,
A happier place, where I can be me,

My life is complete and no longer holds strife,
I love this green planet and this thing we call life.

Goodnight Ebaneezer

From deep in sleep,
He jolts awake,
His heart beats fast,
As frail bones shake,

His life was done,
his time was near,
He lay in bed,
Instilled with fear,

Time would see,
And time would tell,
Time had broken,
His brittle shell,

His eyes shut tight,
With failing health,
The cold dark shade,
of Death itself,

Within his mind,
It's crystal clear,
His life was done,
His time was here.
